Self Portrait 2

As an ongoing, though occasional, series, I produce digital self portraits. These usually make use of close-up selfies taken with the low resolution camera of a tablet. They are then modified digitally: this may be achieved with phone/tablet apps or on a desktop computer using graphic design software. There is the paradox of engaging with my own image while also distancing myself from it. By employing a variety of styles, there are attempts towards both playfulness and reflection.

The pixel based apps result in digital artworks more suitable for smaller,

21 x 30cm, prints.

They are archive quality giclée prints, using an Epson HDR ten colour pigment printing system with Epson Ultrachrome inks and acid-free Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl paper.

The prints, in an edition of thirty, have the artist’s signature and edition number on a special micro-embossed security label attached to the reverse. In addition, you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity. The printer, Point101, will endorse both label and certificate. This provides a further level of provenance for your print, since it will appear in the printer’s records.
